IALI celebrates Republic Day in Hicksville

India Association of Long Island (IALI) celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day at India Center building in Hicksville, NY on January 26th. A lot of members attended and the house was full to the capacity. The national anthem was sung, Indian national flag was unfurled and IALI members performed in group India’s national songs. IALI first lady Saroj Aery also sang solo national song. All the attendees enjoyed the program with great excitement. President Lalit Aery reported to the committee and past presidents his executive council report from January 1stst to Jan26th.

He spoke about the record number of attendance at the IALI oath ceremony which was held on Jan 11th at Nassau County Legislative Building and how the Republic day event too saw full participation.

He highlighted how best people were nominated to various committees such as meditation, women, sangeet, kids, and seniors to further the association’s agenda.

President announced that the IALI next cultural function Holi will be celebrated on March 17th at Cottilion starting 12.00 noon. Very nominal ticket price will be charged for adults, $25 & $13 for children between 5-11. President thanked everyone for coming & also thanked culture chair Indu Gajwani & Joyti Gupta event advisor for arranging program well & finished in a timely fashion.
