Rahul Gandhi to address community in New York on Sept 20

New York: Congress party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is visiting America next week onward and will address a public event in New York on September 20 at Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan.

Though Mr Gandhi is addressing prestigious events in California, Colorado and NJ, New York is a massive public event, expected to draw over 4,000 people, said Shudh Parkash Jasuja, National President of INOC (Indian National Overseas Congress), USA.

Rahul Gandhi, who is widely expected to take over the mantle of heading Congress party from his mother, Sonia Gandhi, is going to speak in New York on his vision for India and achievements of Congress in the decades after Independence as well as the role NRIs can play in the country’s development. He will also address the INOC officials and members here. 

Before New York, in Washington the Congress leader will speak Sept 19 at the Center for American Progress, and  on September 11 he will give a lecture on ‘India At 70: Reflections On The Path Forward’, sponsored by  the Institute of International Studies Berkeley Research on Contemporary India Program and the Institute for South Asia Studies at the University of California.
