Rao Anumolu & Chintu Patel conferred doctorates by LIU

New York: Rao S. Anumolu, President & CEO of ASR International Corporation, was conferred the Doctor of Humane Letters degree by  C.W. Post, Long Island University at the Commencement 2018 on May 11.

He founded ASR International in 1986 in Long Island. ASR is a world renowned high technology company providing Engineering, IT, Project Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain Quality Management Support Services to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

Mr. Rao Anumolu is the only Asian Indian to have been cited by the US Congress for the contributions made by him and ASR towards homeland security in the USA.

He was a recipient in 2010 of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which recognizes immigrants for outstanding contributions to their communities, their nation and the world.

Rao has a Master’s in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology. He has attended several Advanced Management Courses at Defense Systems Management College, Harvard University, and Wharton School of Business Management.

The Indian American Forum and Indian  community have congratulated Dr Rao S Anumolu on being honored with a doctorate.

Chintu Patel, co-CEO and Chairman of Amneal Pharmaceuticals, which has grown to become one of the world’s largest generic drug manufacturers, received an honorary Doctor of Science degree at the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (LIU Pharmacy) commencement ceremony on May 12 at the Barclays Center.

“We are honored to have a leader in the pharmaceutical industry like Chintu Patel at this year’s LIU Pharmacy commencement because he shares our commitment to quality, integrity and innovation,” said LIU President Dr. Kimberly R. Cline.

Patel has spent his career developing superior and affordable medicines to benefit people around the world through R&D. With his brother Chirag, he co-founded Amneal Pharmaceuticals in 2002.

Chintu Patel’s passion for excellence in R&D and therapeutic breakthroughs have led him to invest in several healthcare companies — Asana Biosciences, Kashiv Pharmaceuticals, and Prolong Pharmaceuticals — specializing in innovative health-care platforms.

Based in Long Island, he also serves on the LIU Board of Trustees.

“LIU Pharmacy’s vision and mission makes it a perfect fit for Mr. Patel,” said Dr. John M. Pezzuto, LIU Pharmacy Dean.

Patel received the 2011 Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Life Sciences.

With his wife, Falguni, he created the Irada Foundation, which focuses on health, education and community outreach in India and the US.

Chintu and Chirag Patel were named The South Asian Times Person of the Year 2017.
