New Delhi, July 30, 2010 : Next week will begin on a culturally energetic note as Delhi plays host to an international dance event. Organised by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), the fest will see trained artists from across the globe — Germany, Malaysia, Russia, China, Mauritius, Indonesia and South Africa — perform traditional Indian dances such as kathak, bharatnatyam, kuchipudi and kathakali.

New York (SATimes): Spiritual leader and popular Hindu kathakaar Shri Morari Bapu will speak on “Navadha Bhakti” (nine methods of devotion) on July 2 at 6.30 pm at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Romanti Auditorium. The admission is by invitation only. According to Wikipedia, Morari Bapu has been giving 9 day-long discourses (kathaas) in both Gujarati and Hindi all over the world—including in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea and on an airplane traveling the world—since the mid-1970s.
To date, he has conducted over 600 kathaas, most of them based on the Ramcharitmanas of Tulsidas.

New Jersey (SATimes): ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ sensation and Bollywood playback singer Sanjeevani Belande will be performing at the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of America’s fund-raiser to be held on May 15 at Krishna Vrundavan Temple Auditorium in Edison.
In a hard-hitting report on the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, a United Nations’ Commission of Inquiry has outlined the need for a “serious, credible criminal investigation” by Pakistan. It has said that the probe should look into “the possible involvement of those who form part of the establishment.”
Aiming to display Indian-made good and services, Dubai will host a solo trade fair in June for the first time.
The fair, titled Made in India, will run from June 8-10 and aims to showcase India's strength in manufacturing and services, and soft powers like culture and cuisine.
