A group of 25-30 community members and friends got together to perform Samuhik Rameshwaram Shiv pujan on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya and the last day of month of Shravan. “This year we were very lucky to have Pandit Pradeepji who performed according to traditional rituals singing Rudrashtakam and Shiv Tandav stotram and Maha Mritunjay mantra. After pujan we performed Shivji’s aarti. At the end the shivling made of sand was submerged in the ocean. This is my 5th year of organizing Rameshwaram Shiv pujan. It gives us all the feeling of doing Rameshwaram Yatra,” says Mandakini Patel.
