400+ attend Queens Indian American organizations’ I-Day celebrations

Several Indian American organizations joined hands for India’s 75th Independence Day celebrations in Queens, New York. 

Three leading organizations, Gujarati Samaj of New York, Vaishnav Temple of New York, and Floral Park Bellerose Indian Merchant Association collaborated and hosted the Independence Day celebrations together with more than 10 other associations taking part in the parade.  More than 400+ guests were entertained by various performers singing and dancing to mark this festive celebration.  Politicians and leaders such as New York Senator John Lie, New York Fire Department, Deputy Assistant Chief Michael Massucci, New York State Assemblyman David Weprin and NYPD Lieutenant Dewan Persaud, just to name a few, took part in this celebration.

The crowd joined the performers in several patriotic songs to celebrate this historic event.  All had a jubilant time and the pride of India was beaming all around throughout the morning.
