The top court's order followed a day of intense arguments over a clutch of petitions seeking a repeat/cancellation of the qualifying examination for undergraduate medical courses in the country.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to publish the full results of 2024 NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate) on their website city-wise and centre-wise by 12 pm July 20, while ensuring that the identity of the students is not revealed.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwla and Manoj Misra was hearing a batch of petitions over alleged irregularities in NEET-UG exam. During the hearing, senior advocate Narendra Hooda, representing the petitioner, called for the results of all students to be declared to bring in some transparency.

The Solicitor General argued that the entire results are not published, and it is the personal property of the students. To this, CJI Chandrachud asked, "Why can't you have dummy roll numbers in a sequence centre-wise?" India Today reported.

The court's order followed a day of intense arguments over a clutch of petitions seeking a repeat, or cancellation, of the qualifying examination for undergraduate medical courses in the country. The original exam - attended by nearly 24 lakh aspiring medical professionals - was held on May 5. The Supreme Court will continue the hearing on alleged irregularities next week.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained four undergraduate students of AIIMS Patna in connection with the paper leak and irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024. The doctors are from the 2021 batch, and they have been taken into custody for questioning.
