A week-long spiritual camp in Dallas, Texas

A week-long cultural and spiritual camp aimed at Nepali children commenced on Monday in Dallas, Texas. Organized by the Nepali Society of Texas, Global Nepali School, and the Nepali Cultural and Spiritual Center, the camp sees the participation of 300 Nepali children from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Dr. Bhojbahadur Balayar, Principal of the Global Nepali School, stated that the camp was organized to impart cultural and spiritual knowledge to Nepali children born and raised in the United States.

 The camp includes programs on spiritual awakening, inspirational stories, yoga, meditation, friendship, confidence building, traditional Nepali painting, Nepali drama and dance, and financial literacy. According to Dr. Balayar, to manage the high number of participants more effectively, the camp will be held from July 15 to 21 for junior children and from July 22 to 28 for seniors.

Since 2007, the Nepali Society of Texas has been organizing summer camps to educate school-aged children about Hindu religion, traditions, culture, and moral education during the summer school holidays.

The Global Nepali School reported that Dr. Chintamani Yogi will be the main speaker (trainer) at the camp, with other assistant trainers facilitating the sessions based on the topics.

 At the opening ceremony held in the hall of the Nepali Cultural and Spiritual Center in Euless, Rajendra Wagle, President of the Nepali Society of Texas, Tika Paudel, Deputy Mayor of Euless City, Senior Vice President Janak Bhandari, Dr. Bhojbahadur Balayar, Principal of the Global Nepali School and Meghnath Niraula, the priest of the Nepali temple, spoke about the importance of the cultural and spiritual camp.
