The Indian Consulate in New York celebrated the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Union Square Park, New York. Members of the Indian community gathered to pay homage to the Father of the Nation, offering floral tributes at the statue and honoring his enduring legacy. Consul General Binaya S. Pradhan spoke about the principles of Mahatma Gandhi which have touched hearts worldwide and are more relevant than ever to build a world of peace, understanding, and mutual respect.  The ceremony included a melodious rendition of Gandhiji's favorite bhajans that reflected his teachings of peace and non-violence. The statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Union Square Park, dedicated on October 2, 1986, marking the 117th anniversary of his birth, stands as a symbol of hope and inspiration for all those who believe in the power of peaceful resistance and social change.
