Washington: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made it clear that her primary objective is to prevent Donald Trump from becoming the president again as she reflected on the missed opportunity to disqualify the Republican candidate through Senate conviction after the January 6 Capitol insurrection. Pelosi held the Senate Republican leadership responsible for this outcome, deeming it a shameful decision.

"How can I say this in the nicest possible way: My goal in life was that man would never step in the White House again," Pelosi said as she spoke with reporters and columnists about her new book, “The Art of Power, My Story as America's First Woman Speaker of the House".

Pelosi still maintains significant influence within the Democratic Party and plays a crucial role in shaping its strategic decisions. She had previously cautioned Biden against engaging in debates with Trump, viewing him as a "snake-oil salesman" and believing it would be unwise to interact with him.

During an appearance on CBS News, Pelosi said she had not asked President Joe Biden to step down from the Democratic seat and did not engage in any phone calls on the matter, despite reports saying she led a pressure campaign to withdraw his candidacy.
