Aashna Shah to represent Florida at the 17th Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2023

Tampa, Fla.: Aashna Shah Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2022 will represent her FL state at the 17th Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2023 during a 3-day event on August 10-12 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas in Dallas, Texas where the new queen will be crowned by Alabama’s Marcelle LeBlanc Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2022 at the end of Grand Finale on Friday, August 12, 2022.

Earlier, Ruby Tilghman Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2021 crowned her successor Miss Wekiva Springs’ Outstanding Teen, Aashna Shah Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2022 at the end of the grand finale in Youkey Theatre RP Funding Center Lakeland on June 25. She is the first Indian American to win the Outstanding teen crown.

Aashna Shah is an 11th-grade honor, Advanced Placement, and dual-enrolled student at Ponte Vedra High School. Shah was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD in eighth grade.

Shah founded the “Kindness in a Diverse Society” (KIDS) in 2017 to help children. She was inspired by the Oprah Winfrey quote, “Helping others is the way we help ourselves.”

Shah encourages kids to volunteer at a young age, and the organization recently received an official proclamation from the mayor of Jacksonville for promoting and increasing volunteerism in Florida’s kids.
