Acharya Lokesh Ji presents Jain prayer at new Parliament foundation stone laying ceremony

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of eminent interfaith leaders of different religions and members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House by offering Bhoomi Pujan and heralded a new chapter in the history of India. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and many senior union ministers were also present on this occasion. During the Interfaith Prayer, Acharya Lokeshji mesmerized everyone by presenting prayer on behalf of Jainism and gave a message on peace and non-violence.

Dr. Lokeshji recited sutras based on Namaskar MahamantraMangal Paatha and the Ahimsa, Anekanta and Aparigrah of Lord Mahavira.

Acharya Lokeshji presented the words of Lord Mahavira, saying that human beings become great by karma, not by birth. Caste obsession and communal fanaticism makes democracy weak. Respecting the existence and thoughts of others is the philosophy of non-violence and this is the pluralistic culture of India. He referred to Anekanta philosophy and said that man is a contemplative creature, so difference of opinion, interest is natural, but the problem arises when the differences take the form of discrimination. He said that ideological pollution is more dangerous than environmental pollution.

On this occasion prayers from Jainism, Buddhism, Christianity, Zoroastrian, Baha’I, Judaism and messages from Bhagwat Gita, Holy Bible, Holy Quran, Shabad Kirtan were recited by various Interfaith leaders.
