New York: After his fiery performance as the angry young politician in 2019’s breakthrough hit The Tashkent Files, actor Prashantt Guptha will next be seen in a special role in ace filmmaker Neeraj Pandey’s magnum opus web-series Special Ops. Presented by Hotstar, the show is the first offering under Neeraj Pandey & Shital Bhatia’s new digital arm Friday Storytellers, and has been co-directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shivam Nair, and produced by Shital Bhatia.
Prashantt, though originally from the USA, makes for an impressive Hyderabadi, and plays husband to Meher Vij of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Secret Superstar fame.
The actor shares, “I suppose it speaks for merit when I’m cast by the likes of Ram Madhvani (Neerja), Vivek Agnihotri (The Tashkent Files), and now Neeraj Pandey. And what a pleasure to work with Meher, a humble and very talented co-actor. This is my debut on a streaming platform and the break couldn’t have been bigger.”
