After Toronto, ‘Zwigato’ to be screened at Busan film fest

After screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, ‘Zwigato’ is all set for its Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. The film features Shahana Goswami along with comedian Kapil Sharma.

Applause Entertainment, the production house of Zwigato shared the news on Instagram. “After Toronto, Zwigato is now ready to deliver in Busan!!! Presented by Applause Entertainment and Nandita Das Initiatives, Zwigato will have its Asian Premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival. The film starring Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami will premiere at the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ section at the prestigious film festival (sic),” read the note.

“It means a lot, as I have debuted at TIFF both as an actor and director, with ‘Fire’ (1996) and ‘Firaaq’ (2008), respectively. I hope the universality of the theme will resonate with the discerning audience that the festival attracts from all over the world and also create a buzz within India,” Nandita Das, the film’s director, said.

Kapil Sharma’s last Bollywood film was ‘Firangi’. He will now be seen in a never-before-seen avatar of a food delivery person in an upcoming film, which will be produced by Applause Entertainment and directed by Nandita Das.
