The American Sikh Council has condemned Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) for propagating mythological stories from the Bachittar Natak on the occasion of the first Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. “DSGMC has committed blasphemy against our Guru. Instead of celebrating the Gurbani the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee used the stage of Bangla Sahib Gurdwara to propagate mythological stories from the Bachittar Natak which has nothing to do with Sikhi, and has been condemned throughout the world by prominent Sikh organizations,” it said in a press release.
“The American Sikh Council (ASC) strongly protests and condemns their anti-Sikh agenda which is out in the open for everyone to see today. Manjinder Sirsa and the entire DSGMC should be ashamed of their actions as the Sikhs will never forgive them for their sacrilegious behavior while disrespecting the Sri Guru Granth Sahibji. All those involved in this event must be ostracized, be socially boycotted and be banned from speaking from all gurdwaras stages across the world.
The American Sikh Council (ASC) stands for only one granth the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, and none else,” the press release read.
The American Sikh Council is the umbrella organization representative of Sikhs in the United States. It is an elected body of Sikh Gurdwaras and institutions. Currently 74 Gurdwaras and other Sikh institutions across the nation are members of ASC. The major governing purpose of the organization is to represent the collective view of Sikhs in the United States. ASC works to promote Sikh interests at the national and international level focusing on issues of advocacy, education, and well-being of humankind.
