Anurag Kashyap praises ‘Scoop’, calls it a ‘brilliant show’

‘Scoop’, Hansal Mehta’s directorial venture, which released on June 2 has been winning praises from filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who called it a ‘brilliant show’ after watching.

The Netflix series stars Karishma Tanna in the lead role, and is inspired by ‘Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison’, a biography written by journalist and crime reporter Jigna Vora.

Anurag Kashyap took to his Instagram account to review Scoop and wrote, “Just finished watching @hansalmehta’s “SCOOP” on @netflix_in. A brilliant show , and it’s brilliance lies in the fact that Hansal is that one rare filmmaker who did not make his previous path breaking show “SCAM” into a formula and replicates it in his next show Scoop is it’s own thing with its own storytelling, honest and rooted in its world, does not create unnecessary drama or sensationalises it , doesn’t look to replicate the dynamism of Scam, and tells the story that it actually is , with economy and patience (sic).”
