Celebrate Lunar New Year with Gold House and Asian American, Pacific Islander-led brands

New e-commerce campaign to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

MemphisThis Lunar New Year, join Gold House and several Asian American and Pacific Islander-led brands in celebrating unity, prosperity, and good fortune through a new e-commerce campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Participating brands are sending good fortune forward by joining St. Jude in this purpose-driven campaign to raise support and increase awareness for its lifesaving mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®

The following Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI)-owned e-commerce retailers, all alumni of Gold House’s accelerator program to empower AAPI leaders (Gold Rush), are encouraging donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the point of sale: AshaPopsAsian American Girl ClubCapsule®Covry EyewearEggloo, NeuroNimble Made, and Nona Lim.

They will be joined by AAPI influencers, leaders, and athletes like Olympic gold medalist Apolo Ohno and creator of 9to5chic Anh Sundstrom, who are helping to spotlight AAPI entrepreneurship, along with their support for St. Jude. Sundstrom previously shared her leadership expertise as a panelist during the 2019. St. Jude Mom Boss Summit, which brought female entrepreneurs and business leaders together to discuss the intersection of work, motherhood, and philanthropy.

Apolo Ohno, an acclaimed entrepreneur himself, shared “Gold House has been a tremendous champion for our community, and I’m happy to support their efforts in raising visibility of Asian American entrepreneurs. It’s even more rewarding that the benefits of this campaign are supporting the amazing work St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital does to help end childhood cancer.”

“We’re honored to partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, whose mission to end childhood cancer globally through its transformative research, empowers the next generation,” said Covry Eyewear Co-founder Florence Shin. “By freely sharing the breakthroughs St. Jude makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.”

The parents of St. Jude patient Maelin-Kate understand the significance of St. Jude research firsthand. Their local physician referred Maelin-Kate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a clinical trial where she was diagnosed with a rare blood disease called Fanconi anemia at age 5. People with this disease do not produce healthy bone marrow or healthy blood. Untreated, this genetic disease can cause leukemia. Fortunately, Maelin-Kate made a full recovery thanks to her St. Jude care team.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a humanitarian effort supported by millions of Americans of all faiths and backgrounds united in their desire to help end childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Because of the community’s support, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
