Community supports Indian American candidates

New York:  While the community is closely watching the presidential election, Indian American candidates are also contesting elections this November 3 in record numbers. Kamala Harris is the Democratic nominee for vice president. Sara Gideon is in a tight race in Maine for US Senate. The four Indian Americans in Congress are expected to retain their seats.

Down ballot, on a bipartisan basis, the community is supporting many candidates in the tristate area. For New York State Senate, Senator Kevin Thomas is seeking a second term, and  Jeremy Cooney is likely to join him in Albany. Both are Democrats. So is Jennifer Rajkumar running for NYS Assembly. Ragini Srivastava (R)  is another candidate for state assembly.

In New Jersey, Rik Mehta (R) is vying for the US Senate seat.

In Connecticut, Sujata Gadkar‑Wilcox (D) is running for state assembly.

In Virginia, Republican Puneet Ahluwalia is a  candidate for Lt Governor.

The South Asia Times wishes all of them great success.
