Deepika Padukone seems unfazed by ‘Besharam Rang’ row

Actor Deepika Padukone doesn’t seem fazed by the recent controversy around her song ‘Besharam Rang’ from upcoming movie ‘Pathaan’. Last weekend, she was spotted at the Mumbai airport, flashing the biggest smiles for the paparazzi.

Deepika was seen in a beige jacket and pants with a white shirt. She kept her hair loose, wore dark sunglasses and carried a black back. From stepping out of her car to walking inside the airport, Deepika carried big smiles on her face and even turned around to pose for the photographers. She is reportedly on her way to Qatar

Her fans left supportive comments on the video shared by a paparazzo account. “She is a star,” wrote one. “How confident she is,” commented another.

‘Besharam Rang’ has raked in quite the controversy with many objecting to Deepika’s outfits in the song.

A written complaint was submitted to Mumbai police seeking the registration of an FIR in connection with the saffron dresses worn by actor Deepika Padukone in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ in the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathaan’.

The complaint against the producer, director and lead cast of the film ‘Pathaan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of people and “intentional” use of the color saffron to offend Hindu religion was submitted on Saturday, the police station official said.

The song has been at the centre of protests from some right-wing groups, with effigies of Khan and others being set on fire in Indore in Madhya Pradesh and other parts.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra voiced objections to the song. Mishra told mediapersons, “The costumes in the song are objectionable. The song reflects a dirty mindset.”
