Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has officially announced the casting process for the lead female role in his upcoming film, 'The Delhi Files'. The movie is the final installment in his acclaimed trilogy, following 'The Tashkent Files' and 'The Kashmir Files'. In a video posted on his social media, Agnihotri revealed that he is on the lookout for a new female lead for the film.
The casting call is specifically targeting Indian actresses aged 18 to 25 who possess a solid command of Hindi. While the director mentioned a preference for candidates who can deliver their lines with precision and have a youthful, innocent appearance, he emphasized that talent and fit for the role are the top priorities. Bengali actresses are encouraged to apply, though the criteria are flexible for exceptional candidates.
In his announcement, Vivek Agnihotri also took a moment to express his sincere appreciation for the overwhelming success of his previous films. He credited the audience for their support and the talented cast for bringing his stories to life.
The filmmaker had said in April that he plans on releasing 'The Delhi Files' in 2025. For the film's research, Agnihotri also visited Mahatma Gandhi's Ashram in Sevagram, Maharashtra, in May 2024. The director has reportedly read over 100 books and more than 200 articles related to the historical event that forms the crux of his film. The production of 'The Delhi Files' will be a collaboration between Abhishek Agarwal Arts and Vivek’s I am Buddha Production.
