Washington, D.C. —  Indian American Impact Fund, a leading national civic and political organization for Indian and South Asian Americans, is thrilled to support Governor Tim Walz as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate. This choice confirms a commitment to unity and inclusive leadership that resonate deeply within our community.

Chintan Patel, Indian American Impact Fund’s Executive Director, shared the following statement:
"We are thrilled by Vice President Kamala Harris’s selection of Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.  The Harris-Walz ticket unites the Democratic coalition and will be a voice for every American, standing in stark contrast to the divisive Trump-Vance ticket.

Tim Walz has also proven to be one of the best messengers for the Democratic agenda, demonstrating in action how progressive policies can improve lives. Under his leadership, Minnesota enshrined abortion as a fundamental right, introduced automatic voter registration, passed paid family and medical leave, and established new climate goals. A former educator, Governor Walz supports strong public schools and believes in ensuring access to high-quality education for all. These achievements reflect and align with the inclusive and forward-thinking values South Asian Americans cherish."
