The Rann Utsav, held annually in Rann of Kutch, a white sand desert in Gujarat, is one of the most eagerly awaited tourism events in India. It is a famous winter festival with vibrant festivities, night desert exploration, folk dances, and cultural activities, offering unforgettable experiences merging nature, culture, and joy.

Since its launch in 2005 by then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the annual festival has revitalized the region, transforming it into a global cultural wonderland. This festival lasts for three months, continuing until winter ends. Throughout the three months, each day will feature unique folk songs and dances. This year, the festival, from November to March, will have enormous cultural events, folk dances, and many programs that will attract tourists to stay in Kutch, Gujarat, India.

The Tent City, the centerpiece of the Rann Utsav, attracted 7.42 lakh tourists last year, generating over Rs 6 crore for craft stalls and Rs 1.36 crore for food stalls. This year, 400 tents with 3-star amenities have been set up to host tourists until March next year. Held in the UN-recognised ‘Best Tourism Village’ of Dhordo, the festival prioritizes sustainability. Kutch is one of the most vibrantly diverse regions of Gujarat. Some of its most popular attractions include the Great Rann of Kutch, Kala Dungar, Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary, Chhari Dhandh, Kadiya Dhro Canyon, and Topansar Lake.
