New Delhi: Bodies of tourists who died in the Pahalgam attacks are being brought to their respective cities in India, with top leaders and chief ministers arriving at the locations to console the family members.

In the attack that primarily targeted Hindus, male members of families were shot dead in front of their families by The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba. At least 26 tourists were killed in Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday after the terrorists confirmed their religious identities.

Heartbreaking images of tourists’ bodies being received by friends and families across India have now emerged. Bodies of two tourists from Karnataka - Manjunath Rao and Bharath Bushan - also arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on April 24.

Indore resident Sushil Nathaniel's body was received by his wife, Jenifer, and his son, Nathaniel. Indian Air Force officer Tage Hailyang's body was brought back to his hometown, Tajang village, in Arunachal Pradesh.
