The Indian American Muslims of North America (IAMNA) expresses deep sorrow and outrage over the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed lives of innocent civilians and wounded many more.

'This act of terror is an assault on the values of humanity, justice, and peace. We stand in solemn solidarity with the victims, their families, and the people of India during this heartbreaking time. IAMNA categorically condemns terrorism in all its forms and reaffirms that there is no justification—religious, political, or ideological—for such brutal violence.' IAMNA said in a press release.

In an emergency session held by the organization, IAMNA members unanimously resolved to send a clear and unwavering message: the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to swift and uncompromising justice.

Joint Statement from the IAMNA Leadership

"This reprehensible attack is a reminder of the urgent need to confront terrorism with both courage and moral clarity. The Government of India must act decisively to identify and prosecute those responsible. Innocent lives must never be the price of political failure or religious extremism."

"We also strongly denounce any attempt to communalize this tragedy. Let it be absolutely clear: Islam does not condone the killing of innocents. As the Holy Quran says, 'Whoever kills a soul… it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.' (5:32). Those who commit such atrocities are acting in total defiance of the principles of Islam and humanity."

"We urge media outlets and political commentators to refrain from irresponsible reporting or rhetoric that targets minority communities. This is a time to unite as a nation—not to divide. The pursuit of justice must be guided by truth, not by prejudice."

"The attack also highlights lapses in security and intelligence. We urge the Indian authorities to conduct a thorough review and take meaningful steps to prevent such tragedies in the future. The safety of every citizen, regardless of faith, must be paramount."

"IAMNA remains committed to peace, interfaith unity, and justice for all. We will continue to speak out against terrorism and hatred, and stand with the people of India in their pursuit of a safe and inclusive society."
