A day after shots were fired outside AP Dhillon's house on Victoria Island in Canada's Vancouver, the Punjabi singer said that "he is safe". A man named Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has reportedly taken responsibility for the incident. "I'm safe, My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. Your support means everything," Dhillon wrote on Instagram.
A purported post is being circulated where the Godara is claiming that the firing took place at two locations in Canada - Victoria Island and Woodbridge Toronto. According to the post, he fired outside the singer's house after he featured actor Salman Khan in a music video. The gangster also gave death threats to the singer in the purported post.
Authorities are actively looking into the incident to ascertain the motive behind the shooting and to ensure the safety of Dhillon and his neighbors in Vancouver. The incident has drawn significant media attention due to Dhillon’s prominent status in the music industry, and the potential implications of the attack.
Dhillon is known for blending the 80s-style synth-pop with Punjabi music. His rise on the global canvas has been meteoric owing to songs like ‘Brown Munde’, ‘Excuses’, ‘Summer High’, and ‘Insane’, among others.
