In a landmark moment for Bollywood, actress Deepika Padukone has been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Motion Pictures category, class of 2026. The announcement was made during a live-streamed event hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant milestone in the global recognition of Indian talent.
With this, the 'Jawan' actress becomes the second Indian after late actor Sabu Dastagir to earn this prestigious honor, joining an illustrious list of recipients that includes Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore.
“This recognition is not just about my work but about what it means for all of us,” Deepika said in a brief statement following the announcement. “I hope this paves the way for more South Asian representation around the world.”
In 2018, she was named one of TIME’s 100 most influential people. She later received the TIME100 Impact Award and became the first Indian to present the FIFA World Cup trophy at the finals in Qatar.
Back home, she is set to star in several high-profile projects. Her next Atlee’s film, alongside Allu Arjun. She is also rumored to feature in Shah Rukh Khan’s big project, 'King'.
