Commemorating the centennial birth celebrations of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, former chief minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Los Angeles on February 13 along with his wife Anjaliben Rupani, son Rushabh and sister-in-law Alkaben Bakshi.
Rupani was traditionally greeted by Pujya Divyacharandas Swami, head Swami of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Los Angeles.
The Rupani family offered their respects at the Mandir, admired the art and architecture, and performed abhishek to the murti of Shri Neelkanth Varni. Rupani specially addressed the sunday satsang assembly and recounted his experiences with Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Mahant Swami Maharaj and BAPS at-large.
The visit concluded with Vijaybhai and his family offering prostrations and pushpanjali (flower tribute) to the sacred image of Pramukh Swami Maharaj in commemoration and celebration of the centennial birth celebrations of Pramukh Swami Maharaj taking place this year.
