New York: Indian American Forum hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion virtually on the Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tirlok Malik’s ‘To New India with Love’ in collaboration with The Indian Panorama. The short film, which examines the subject of aspirations of Indian youth, was also shown to the participants on October 17.
Indu Jaiswal, Chairperson, IAF, introduced the moderators and the panelists while congratulating Trilok Malik on the success of ‘To New India with Love’, which has been praised by audiences and critics alike for its empowering message to the youth of India.
Sharing his vision behind the film, Tirlok Malik said that the film aims to inspire the youth of India to not give up on their dreams.
Moderator Prof. Indrajit S. Saluja, Chief Editor, The Indian Panorama, said every film of Malik oozes with his love for India. Second moderator broadcast veteran and community activist Dr. Renee Mehrra praised the film’s message and relevance.
‘To New India with Love’ has been produced with a public-service spirit and is presented by Padma Shri Dr Sudhir Parikh. He highlighted the positive changes that have taken place in India over the last five decades. He asserted that the Indian youth today have many opportunities as they have been empowered by the new initiatives of the Modi government.
The panelists included Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh, Dr. Azad Anand, Dr. Bhupi Patel, Dr. Urmilesh Arya, Shashi Malik, and Animesh Goenka. Each of them praised the film’s timely message.
Tirlok Malik is best known for making films about Indian immigrants in the US, including ‘Lonely in America,’ ‘Khushiyaan,’ and ‘On Golden Years’.
