IALI celebrates Holi 2022

India Association of Long Island celebrated the festival of Holi at Asa’Mai Temple, Hicksville, NY on March 13th.

Despite a very cold day, the function was well attended by more than 210 members, including Senator Kevin Thomas, chief guest A.K. Vijaya Krishnan, Consul Community Affair, Indian Consulate, Dr. Bobby Kalotee, Human Rights Commissioner & Friends for Good Health, Zahid Syed, Executive Director for Asian American Affairs, community leaders, Deepak Bansal, President IDP, Dr.Ravindra Goyal, Chairman Indo American Festivals & President Hindu Center Flushing NY, Vibhuti Jha prominent journalist from Jaipur Dialogue USA, Past Presidents of IALI, NY Telangana Telugu Association President Ravinder Kamtam and his Executive Committee members, Professor Inder Jeet Saluja, Chairman of The Indian Panorama, Veer Mukhi, secretary, Arya Samaj of Long Island and his wife Mrs. Savita Mukhi.

A 30 seconds silence was observed in memory of innocent victims of Ukraine, Queen of Melody Lata Mangeshkar, and Mrs. Uma Sengupta who passed away on 10th March 2022.

President Bina Sabapathy in her address said, “The day we forgive, forget the enmity, and embrace all the world will be the most beautiful place to live on. There will be no war between Russia and Ukraine if they follow the same.”

Past President Dr. Sharwan Bagla, executive member of AAPIQLI presented a cheque of $1000 donation to IALI.
