IIT Madras starts Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture Series, to be lectured by Nobel Prize awardees

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is launching the Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture series from October 20. It will include addresses by Nobel Prize awardees and other renowned speakers from all over the world. 

This series is named and being launched in honor of one of the alumni of IIT Madras named Professor Subra Suresh, a distinguished Alumni Awardee – 1997 and is currently a President and a Distinguished University Professor at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. 

As per the press release, Professor Mahesh Panchagula, the Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), IIT Madras, said, “We are delighted to launch the Subra Suresh lecture series supported by the generosity of Shri Kris Gopalakrishnan. This series will bring the best speakers from all over the world to India, with the motivation to bring a broad perspective of science to researchers and laypeople.” 

This is a three-day annual event wherein day one would include the technical lecture, day two – a public lecture and day three would focus on interactions between the distinguished speaker and IIT Madras faculty, students and laboratory visits as mentioned in the press release.
