Indians across the globe on Monday celebrated Diwali with festivities and dazzling lights marking the festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. On Sunday, over 1.5 million earthen lamps were lit and kept burning for 45 minutes at Ram ki Paidi, at the banks of the Saryu River in Ayodhya, retaining the Guinness World Record it set last year. The stunning spectacle was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who celebrated the festival of Diwali with soldiers in Kargil in Jammu and Kashmir.
