Indian-origin Basant Gupta sworn in as New Jersey Planning Board member

A Planning Board meeting was held in New Jersey where Basant Gupta of Indian origin was sworn in as a member and he accepted the responsibility of contributing to the city’s development. Significantly, this planning board is responsible for evaluating and rendering decisions on applications for development such as site plans, subdivisions and variances. Solicitor John Ridgeway administered the oath of the Planning Board to Gupta in presence of his wife Chitra Gupta. On this occasion, planning committee members – Mayor Laura Pfrommer, Chairperson Manuel Aponte, other planning board members – Charles Aikin, James Galvin, Paul Hodson, Riyaz Rajput, Paul Rosenberg, Victoria Schiffler, Stephen Slusarsky, Marita Sullivan , Marita Sullivan etc. were present.
Gupta is a respected community leader in America, a philanthropist, a political leader and a successful entrepreneur. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the South Jersey Indian Association in America, Planning Board Member – Egg Harbor Township New Jersey, Member of the Cultural and Heritage Committee on the Atlantic County Advisory Board, Founding Member of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti Foundation, Hindu Jain Mandir Pomona New Jersey.
Acharya Dr. Lokeshji, founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti Foundation, while congratulating Mr. Gupta for the membership of Planning Board New Jersey, said that Basant Gupta is always engaged in social welfare and development works. It is a matter of pride for India that the people of our community are hoisting the country’s flag with unprecedented works even in the city of a huge country like America.
On this occasion, Mr.Gupta expressed his gratitude and said that both India and America are big democratic countries of the world. India and America are strong friends, working together can create a better world. He told that having taken the oath, many old and new matters for the development of New Jersey city were brought up for discussion and approval, which would be considered upon.
