Mumbai: Actor Jacqueline Fernandez was stopped at the Mumbai Airport by immigration officials due to a Look-out Circular (LoC) on December 5. Fernandez was on her way to Dubai for a show with Salman Khan.
Jacqueline was allowed to go after brief questioning and informed by the ED that she will have to appear before the probe agency in Delhi when summoned. The Enforcement Directorate had opened a LOC against the actor in the Sukesh Chandrasekar case. The ED will issue fresh summons to her for appearing at the Delhi office.
The ED has filed a charge sheet in a Delhi court against conman Sukesh Chandrasekar and others in the 200-crore money laundering case. The central agency has unearthed evidence showing financial transactions from Chandrasekar to Fernandez. A horse worth Rs.52 lakh and a Persian cat worth Rs.9 lakh were among gifts worth Rs.10 crores were allegedly given by Chandrashekar to Fernandez, the ED has said in its charge sheet filed in the court.
As per the charge sheet, Sukesh and Jacqueline Fernandez have been talking to each other since January 2021 post which he started sending her expensive gifts. In fact, it also states that Chandrashekhar used to speak to the Bollywood actress over his mobile phone even while he was in Tihar jail.
After receiving the bail, Sukesh booked a chartered flight to Chennai for himself and for Jacqueline from Mumbai to Delhi. Both Sukesh and Jacqueline stayed at a hotel in Chennai. As per Sukesh Chandrasekar’s lawyer, Jacqueline and the prime accused were dating.
Investigation into alleged proceeds of crime reaching the Bollywood actor from Sukesh is still on, and the actor will be questioned again by ED.
