Jain Scholar Speaker Series at Long Island University announced

New York: The Dr. Shailendra Palvia Endowed Jain Scholar Speaker Series is established through a $30,000 gift from Dr. Shailendra Palvia, Professor at Long Island University.  A seminar each semester shall focus on a topic related to the three prominent philosophies of Jainism: Ahinsa (Non-Violence) and Anekantwad (Respect for Diverse Viewpoints) and Aparigrah (Avoidance of Indiscriminate Use of the World’s Resources) and conducted by a Jain Scholar(s).

Dr. Nathaniel Bowditch, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. Ed Weis, Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) of LIU Post, members of LIU Post, and the Jain community countrywide will come together virtually to celebrate the inauguration of the Dr. Shailendra Palvia Endowed Jain Scholar Speaker Series with effect from Fall semester, 2020.
