Jay-Z and Beyoncé buy most expensive home in California history

Jay-Z and Beyoncé have made history by buying the most expensive home in California for a staggering $200 million. The music superstars closed the deal on a 30,000-square-foot mansion in Malibu that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and features a private art collection, a pool, and a water feature.

The home was designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando, who is known for his minimalist style and use of concrete. It took 15 years to build and was previously owned by art collector and soap opera heir William Bell Jr., who reportedly spent $100 million in loans to construct it.

The couple got a bargain on the property, which was originally listed for $295 million. They beat the previous record for the most expensive home in California, which was held by tech mogul Marc Andreessen, who bought a Malibu estate for $177 million in 2021.

The power couple have a combined net worth of $2.5 billion, according to Forbes. Beyoncé is currently on her Renaissance World Tour, which could bring in as much as $2 billion in revenue. Jay-Z is the founder of Roc Nation, a music label and entertainment company that represents artists like Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and J. Cole.
