New York, NY: Kannada Koota New York, a prominent organization promoting Kannada language and culture in New York City, celebrated its 50th anniversary in a two day extravaganza on April 29-30.
Around a thousand members of the community attended the two day event, making it a runaway
success. They were enthralled and mesmerized by cultural programs and performances by two major bands: Guru Kiran and Vijay Prakash.
The illustrious guest list for the event included Sen. Kevin Thomas, Jon Kaiman – Deputy County Executive, Allmati Swamiji Rudramuni Swamy, and B R. Lakshman Rao. Philanthropist Ravi Bhooplapur, Dr. Dinkar Rai, and Dr. Sudhindra were honored for their accomplishments in their respective fields.
The event was a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Kannada language and tradition and featured a variety of local cultural programs, including music, dance, and drama. The two major bands, Guru Kiran and Vijay Prakash, performed to a packed audience, enthralling them with their melodious tunes and energetic performances. It also showcased Karnataka’s rich and diverse cuisine.

The Kannada Koota New York has been promoting the Kannada language and culture in the New York area for the past 50 years. The organization regularly conducts cultural events, language classes, and community service activities. The 50th-anniversary celebration was a milestone event for the organization, and they look forward to continuing their work in promoting Kannada culture and language in the years to come.
