Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, along with the Governor and other dignitaries, celebrated the 74th Republic Day in Bengaluru. CM Bommai also laid a flower wreath and paid tributes at the military war memorial in the city.
Meanwhile, after celebrating Independence Day last year at Idgah Maidan in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet, the Karnataka government now observed Republic Day at the controversial ground.
Amid a long-standing controversy over the ownership of the land, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) last year declared the ground to be a property of the state revenue department.
Karnataka’s ‘Naarishakti’ tableau was displayed at the Republic Day parade.
CM Bommai said that the tableau has been prepared in just 8-10 days.
