Washington, DC: U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, today issued the following statement on student protests in Bangladesh.
“I am troubled to hear that student protests in Bangladesh have turned deadly. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims.
I have reached out to the U.S. State Department, and join my colleagues in urging authorities to deescalate, restore internet access and respect peaceful demonstrations.”
