Macy’s July 4th fireworks illuminates Empire State Building

Macy’s iconic July 4th fireworks ended with a beautiful blitz atop the Empire State Building in Manhattan. The demonstration though kept brief and unannounced to prevent people from gathering in wake of the pandemic capped off Macy’s five nights of fireworks displays held at different locations.
The crowds lined up along 34th Street between 5th and Madison avenues had a gala time watching the spectacle

The first blasts lasted less than a minute, with fireworks resuming again for three minutes around 9:51 p.m. The celebration evoked mixed feelings with the looming medical emergencies and civil unrest post the death of George Flyod.
