The ‘Adipurush’ teaser has left the netizens disappointed. Directed by Om Raut, the first teaser features actor Prabhas as Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Sunny Singh as Lakshman.
The teaser was launched at a grand event in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, but it is in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The teaser impressed some but many criticized it for bad VFX. Not just that, but Saif’s look as Lankesh in the film did not go down well with the netizens. Some even said that he looked more like Taimur, the Mughal invader.
A Twitter user compared Saif’s looks to Khilji and wrote, “This movie is an insult to Ramayan. Firstly why are Ravan and Hanuman not wearing mukut? What kind of haircut is Saif given? He’s looking like Khilji. Ravan was one of d wisest Bramhin … Pls stop hurting our sentiments”.
Another Twitter user wrote, “This Ravana?? Or Taimur or Aurangazeb or any Muslim ruler (sic).”
“Ravaan was a prominent Brahmin, a great warrior, tilakdhari Hindu not an Islamic jihadi such as Aurangazeb/Shahzahan/Taimur (Saif look like same in #Adipurush). Totally #disappointed.”
Adipurush is a mythological film based on the epic, Ramayana. Made on a mammoth budget of nearly Rs 500 crore, the film is all set for a grand release on January 12, 2023.
