New York: One more IITian is making a name for himself in the global tech community.

Meta has recruited Trapit Bansal for its upcoming Superintelligence 11 Team.

Former AI researcher of OpenAI, Trapit Bansal is now part of a coveted team of Meta working to develop superintelligence, which is a type of intelligence in computers that exceeds human minds in reasoning, thinking, processing, and problem-solving.

Bansal has Master's of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from IIT, Kanpur. He then completed another Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Thereafter, he pursued PHD in Computer Science from the same university. His research areas were natural language processing, deep learning and meta-learning.

Bansal started his career as a research intern in Sam Altman’s OpenAI (between May 2017-August 2017), then he worked briefly as an intern in Google and Microsoft.

His first job effectively was with OpenAI as a member of technical staff.

Meta is splurging billions of dollars to build a team, aimed at developing superintelligence and slingshot the tech giant ahead of its competitors like Google and OpenAI in AI field.

Meta’s Superintelligence Team will be spearheaded by AI Genius Alexandr Wang who works as the chief AI officer. He is the co-founder and former CEO of Scale AI, an artificial intelligence company that provides data labeling and model evaluation services to develop AI applications.
