Newsweek ranks NYC Health+Hospitals/Sea View nursing home #1 in NYS

NYC Health + Hospitals on September 28, 2023 announced that as part of Newsweek’s third annual “Best Nursing Homes 2024” rankings, it recognized the health system’s skilled nursing facility NYC Health + Hospitals/Sea View as the number one nursing home in the state for the second year in a row. Three of the five NYC Health + Hospitals skilled nursing facilities ranked in the top ten; the fifth facility was ranked in the top 30. New York State has over 600 nursing homes. For the rankings, Newsweek identified 500 top facilities (with more than 150 beds), across 25 states, with 58 in New York state. The rankings are based on five data sources, including performance data, peer recommendations, management of the COVID-19 situation and accreditations from The Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. For the first time, resident satisfaction data for nursing homes, based on National Safety Goals from The Joint Commission and Google Scores, has been added to the scoring model. The rankings are designed to assist patients and their families in making informed decisions about where to receive their long-term and post-acute care.
