NYC Health+Hospitals reopens Neponsit Adult Health Center in Rockaway Park

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced the reopening of the Neponsit Adult Day Health Center at 230 Beach 102nd Street in Rockaway Park, which closed in March 17, 2020 because of Covid-19. The center provides on-site services for approximately 50 patients who need assistance with everyday tasks, but do not require 24-hour care. The center reopened on August 8.

“We are excited welcome our registrants back to the Neponsit Adult Day Health Center,” said Khoi Luong, DO, Senior Vice President for Post-Acute Care. “The center plays a vital role in the lives of our registrants, and we know that the pandemic has been huge disruption in their lives. While the center was closed, our social workers stayed in touch with every registrant to ensure that their care needs were being met. Today is like a homecoming.”

The Neponsit Adult Day Health Center opened originally in September, 1988. Services at the center include nursing, physical therapy, nutrition assessment, occupational therapy, medical social services, psychosocial assessment, rehabilitation and socialization, and coordination of referrals for outpatient health. The center operates five days a week and is state licensed for 50 registrants.

Those interested in learning about the center and its services should call 718-634-1400. The center accepts Medicaid, private payment, and some health insurers.
