Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben passed away at a hospital in Ahmedabad on Friday at the age of 100. The UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, where she was admitted to on Wednesday, informed the news of her demise. She passed away at 3:30 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Gandhinagar, carried the mortal remains of his mother. PM Modi had reached Ahmedabad from Delhi on Wednesday afternoon and visited the hospital to meet his ailing mother.
Informing about her death, the Prime Minister posted a heartfelt tweet early this morning, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
