PM museum will inspire future generations: Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the ‘Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya’, a museum dedicated to the country’s all Prime Ministers since Independence. During the inauguration the PM said, the museum will become a source of inspiration for future generations.

“PM Sangrahalaya will become the source of inspiration for the generations to come. Here, our youth will be able to witness the hardships each Prime Minister faced and how they overcame it all to lay the foundations of New India,” he said.

PM Modi, who bought the first ticket to the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya or Museum of Prime Ministers in Delhi at its inauguration, also stated that barring a few exceptions, the country has had a proud tradition of strengthening democracy in a democratic manner.

Starting from the displays on freedom struggle and the framing of the Constitution, the museum tells the story of how our Prime Ministers navigated the nation through various challenges and ensured the all-round progress of the country, the PMO had said earlier.

PM Narendra Modi said the museum is a living reflection of the shared heritage of each government.

The design of the museum building is inspired by the story of rising India, shaped and molded by the hands of its leaders. The design incorporates sustainable and energy conservation practices. No tree has been felled or transplanted during the course of work on the project.

The logo of the museum represents the hands of the people of India holding the ‘Dharma Chakra’ symbolizing the nation and democracy.

Information for the museum was collected through resources/repositories with institutions such as Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan, Films Division, Sansad TV, Ministry of Defense, and Media Houses (Indian and foreign), Foreign News Agencies, etc.
