New York: Prominent community member of the tristate area Jaswant Mody died in a tragic car accident on July 4. Retired from the City of New York, he was involved with many community organizations including FIA and GOPIO. Mr Dharmatma Saran, chair of India Festival Committee that holds beauty pageants, first posted about the tragedy on Facebook, writing: “Always willing to help, Jaswant bhai will be greatly missed. A great loss to the community and a personal loss to me. A long time friend and associate, Jaswant bhai was a very valuable member of the IFC family in charge of public relations.”
A resident of Blawenburg, New Jersey, Mody is survived by his wife Chandrika and children Neil and Dr. Lena.
