Rajinikanth calls ‘Jailer’ average, says music saved the film

Superstar Rajinikanth reclaimed the top position in the Tamil film industry with the success of ‘Jailer’, which has collected more than Rs 600 crore at the worldwide box office. Sun Pictures’ Kalanithi Maran threw a success party for the cast and crew of the film, wherein Rajinikanth heaped praise on the movie’s music composer Anirudh Ravichander.

“I watched the film first without re-recording… The film before the re-recording was done, was average to me too. However, the manner in which Anirudh lifted the film was my god. He transformed ‘Jailer’ almost like a bride after makeup,” Rajinikanth said.

The superstar also said that the success of ‘Jailer’ has made him happy only for a few days as the pressure to outdo the film has crept up lately. “I was happy only for five days. After those five days, I started getting tense about my next film and how to make it an even bigger hit since there will be higher expectations now. I’m telling you, I’m under a lot of tension about my next film and I don’t know what to do,” the superstar added.
