RCHS celebrates 14th anniversary with Appreciation Gala

Hicksville, NY: Rotary Club of Hicksville South (RCHS) held its 14th Anniversary Appreciation Gala and Installation Oath Ceremony on June 24 at The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. Mizanur Rahman has took oath

Nassau County Minority Affairs Executive Director Lionel Chitty administered the oath of office to Mizanur Rahman as the 15th President of the Club for the Fiscal Year 2023-24.

The guests at the event included the Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York Nawab Adil Khan; North Hempstead Supervisor, Jennifer S. DeSena; Nassau County Legislator, Rose Marie Walker; Nassau County Minority Affairs Executive Director, Lionel Chitty; Town of Oyster Bay Asian American Affairs Director Harry Malhotra; and Rotary District 7255 Governor 2023-24 Thomas J. Crowley.

The welcome speech was delivered by the club’s Charter President Kamlesh Mehta. He also introduced the Keynote Speaker Syed Zaki Hossain, a successful entrepreneur, and a prominent philanthropist. “If you share your happiness and successes with others, it will never diminish; rather it will increase in multiples, and the satisfactions one achieves by helping others is most gratifying,” Hossain said during his address.

Later in the evening, Hossain was conferred with RCHS Lifetime Achievement Award while Wall of Fame was awarded to Nilima Madan, Vyas Dev Sharma Memorial Award to Rekha Gupta, Bansi Shah Memorial Award to Ahmed Khan Tareen and the Service Award to Anu Gulati, and another Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed to Arjen Bathija at the event.
