Rajasthani Organization of American Residents (ROAR) is celebrating its 7th Annual Teej Mahotsav on August 18, 2023 on the eve of Teej in New Jersey. This is its 20th Teej celebration and for the past seven years, it has been celebrating this Rajasthani festival in New Jersey area.
ROAR has been celebrating this in association with Jhoom Events and under the leadership of Tarang Soni.
This year, plans are afoot for a grand celebration with 1000+ people expected to join the 8-hour long festivities.
ROAR will also honor prominent Rajasthani personality and son of the soil Dr. Samin Sharma (Co-Founder, Eternal Heart Care Center and Research Institute) and Naveenji Shah for their contribution to the society and achievements with “Pride of Rajasthan” award for the year 2023.
The first ever International Rajasthan Pageant for Mrs., Miss and Teen categories has been planned to encourage the younger generation. Along with the pageant, titles such as Teej Queen, Maharani Saa and Rani Padmavati will also be awarded. Teej Queens from past years too will join the Teej Mahotsav.
To celebrate India’s Independence Day, Rajasthani Organization of American Residents is also bringing a Rajasthani float “Jhanki Rajasthan Ki” at the India Day Parade on August 20, 2023 in the New York City and bringing Rajasthan alive on the streets of the USA.
