Rotary Club of Hicksville South’s charity winter project reaches out to needy

New York: The Rotary Club of Hicksville South (RCHS) held its Winter Projects 2023 (Phase lll) event on November 30, 2023. It’s a charity project of blankets and kids’ coats/jackets distributions for the most needy ones in the greater community. 
There were several distinguished guests and public officials present at the event at Hicksville Community Center, in Hicksville, NY. The distinguished guests who were present are Deputy County Executive Anissa D. Moore; Nassau County Legislator Rose Mary Walker; Town of Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena; Nassau County Minority Affairs Executive Director Lionel Chitty; Town of Oyster Bay’s Deputy Commissioner P&D Jim McCaffrey; and the Rotary District Governor Tom Crowley (D7255).  

Representatives from the following recipient organizations were present – South Asian Council for Social Services (SACSS), NYC; the United Methodist Church, Hempstead; The General Needs, East Northport; St. Ignatius Human Services, Hicksville; North Park Community Development Corporation, Long Beach; The Manna Project, Inwood; Hempstead Coordinating Council of Civic Association, Hempstead; Domestic Harmony Foundation (DHF), Hicksville; Extent A Hand, Deer Park; The INN, Hempstead; Wyandanch Public Library, Wyandanch.  

At Phase I (on November 16, 2023) of the Winter Projects 2023 the Club distributed blankets and kids’ coats/jackets at a public school in Queens. UCi, NY partnered on that project. Also the PS/MS 164 Queens Valey School Teacher Ms. Ishita Shah, and School Principal Ms. Ingrid Lafalaise were great support for the project.  

Distributions of winter blankets and jackets is the Rotary Club’s signature charity project that it undertakes each year.
